Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 July 2026

Mailsumo makes four tools (Email Extractor, Email Finder, Email Tracker and Email Verifier) that share one account and one database. This policy covers all of them.

What we collect

  • Your account. Email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. We never receive your Google password.
  • Addresses you collect. Email addresses the Extractor saves from pages you visit, and addresses the Finder returns, along with the source page or search, the date, and any verification verdict.
  • Tracking data. For emails you choose to track: recipient address, subject, send time, and each open or link click with its timestamp, approximate location and device type.
  • Billing. Subscription status, plan and billing address. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Diagnostics. Error reports and basic usage counts, so we can tell when something is broken.
Extension permissions. The extensions read the page you are on only when you ask them to, and only to find the addresses displayed on it. They do not read your browsing history and they do not read the contents of your emails.

Anonymous use

Email Extractor can be used without an account: the extension generates a random install token stored in your browser, and that token, not your identity, is what your saved addresses belong to. If you later create an account you can claim that token, which links the existing data to you. You are never required to.

How we use it

  • To provide the tools you have installed and enforce plan limits and credits.
  • To send transactional email: sign-in links, access tokens, receipts, open alerts.
  • To keep the service secure, debug failures and prevent abuse.

We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use your data to train machine-learning models.

The Email Finder index

Email Finder works partly from an index of business email addresses and the address formats companies use (for example, that a company writes [email protected]). This index contains work contact details, not personal ones, and it is built from publicly available sources and from data partners.

Addresses saved by your Email Extractor are not added to this index unless you opt in. Opting in is off by default, is not required for any feature, and can be withdrawn at any time from your dashboard settings; withdrawing removes your contributions from the index.

If you are the owner of an address in our index and want it removed, email [email protected] from that address and we will remove it and suppress it from future results.

Who we share it with

ProcessorWhat for
StripePayments and subscription management
RailwayHosting and database (EU/US regions)
PostmarkTransactional email delivery
BouncebusterEmail verification, when you use the Verifier or Finder
SentryError monitoring
CloudflareDNS, CDN and abuse protection

When you verify an address, that address is sent to Bouncebuster to be checked. Nothing else about you goes with it.

Where your data lives, and for how long

Data is stored in the EU and the United States with the processors above. We keep your collected addresses and tracking history for as long as your account is open; if you close your account, everything is deleted within 30 days, apart from invoices we are legally required to keep. Anonymous install tokens with no activity for two years are deleted along with their data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to processing. Export and account deletion are self-service in your dashboard, and take effect immediately. For anything else, email [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Using Mailsumo responsibly

When you collect or find addresses with Mailsumo, you become the controller of that data. That means it is your responsibility to have a lawful basis for contacting those people, to identify yourself, and to honour unsubscribe requests. Our Terms prohibit using Mailsumo for spam.

Changes

We will email account holders before any change that materially affects how we use your data. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
